Calibration of an instrument

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010416

The process of adjusting a meteorological instrument to provide accurate measurements by comparing its readings against a known standard. This involves correcting for systematic errors and establishing the relationship between the instrument's output and the true value of the measured variable. Regular calibration is performed to maintain data quality and traceability to national or international standards.
