Instrument correction

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006568

An adjustment applied to raw measurements obtained from a meteorological instrument to account for known biases or errors in its readings. These adjustments compensate for factors such as temperature effects on sensors, calibration drifts, or systematic inaccuracies inherent in the instrument's design. Corrections are typically determined through laboratory calibration against a standard or by comparison with more accurate reference instruments.
