Temperature correction

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009533

An adjustment applied to a measured value to account for the influence of temperature on the instrument or the property being measured. This is often necessary for accurate readings from barometers, hygrometers, or other meteorological sensors. For example, mercury barometers require a correction for the thermal expansion of the mercury column.
