Atmospheric correction

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003666

A process applied to remotely sensed data to remove the effects of the atmosphere on the measured signal. This adjustment accounts for scattering and absorption by atmospheric gases and aerosols, which can distort the true surface reflectance or radiance. Corrected data provides a more accurate representation of surface properties for environmental monitoring and analysis.
