Cunningham slip correction

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004801

A factor applied to Stokes' law to account for the non-continuum effects experienced by very small particles moving through a gas. When the particle size is comparable to or smaller than the mean free path of the gas molecules, the gas no longer behaves as a continuous fluid. This correction increases the calculated settling velocity or mobility of such particles, particularly relevant for aerosols in the sub-micrometer range.
