Stokes's law
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009270
A physical law describing the drag force exerted on a small spherical particle moving through a viscous fluid at low Reynolds numbers. It states that the drag force is directly proportional to the particle's radius, its velocity, and the fluid's viscosity. This law is applied in atmospheric science to calculate the settling velocity of cloud droplets and aerosol particles.
