Barometric correction table
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003817
A set of pre-calculated values used to adjust a raw barometric pressure reading for known instrumental and environmental errors. These tables provide corrections for factors like instrument temperature, which causes thermal expansion or contraction of the barometer's components, and gravity, which varies with latitude and elevation. The sum of all applicable corrections from the table is applied to the station pressure reading.
