Barometric constant

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003816

A numerical value used in barometric formulas to relate atmospheric pressure to altitude, often derived from physical constants such as the gas constant for dry air and the acceleration due to gravity. This constant facilitates the conversion of pressure measurements into equivalent heights in the atmosphere. Its value varies slightly with temperature and humidity.
