Barometric wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-003822
A propagating disturbance in atmospheric pressure, often associated with large-scale atmospheric phenomena such as gravity waves or the passage of weather fronts. These waves can manifest as rapid, short-lived fluctuations in pressure that are distinct from the slower changes associated with synoptic weather systems. They can sometimes be detected by microbarographs.
