Gas constant

A physical constant that relates the energy scale to the temperature scale for a given amount of substance. It appears in the ideal gas law and other thermodynamic equations, representing the work done per mole per degree Kelvin. Its value is approximately 8.314 Joules per mole Kelvin (J/mol·K).
