Henry's law

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006228

A principle stating that the amount of a gas dissolved in a liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of that gas above the liquid, at a constant temperature. This law is relevant in atmospheric chemistry for understanding the dissolution of atmospheric gases, such as carbon dioxide, into cloud droplets and ocean water. The proportionality constant is known as Henry's law constant.
