Gas thermometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005876
A device that measures temperature by observing the pressure or volume changes of a fixed amount of gas. It operates on the principle that the pressure of a gas at constant volume, or its volume at constant pressure, is directly proportional to its absolute temperature. This instrument is often used as a primary standard for temperature measurement due to its high accuracy.
