Resistance thermometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008530
A temperature-measuring device that operates on the principle that the electrical resistance of certain materials changes predictably with temperature. Platinum resistance thermometers (PRTs) are commonly used in meteorological applications due to their high accuracy and stability. They provide precise temperature readings for surface and upper-air observations.
