Surface thermometer

An instrument designed to measure the temperature of the ground or a specific surface. These thermometers can be contact-based, such as a probe inserted into the soil, or remote-sensing, like an infrared thermometer measuring emitted radiation. They are used in meteorology to monitor soil temperature, road surface temperature, and other environmental conditions.
