Thermoelectric thermometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009608
A thermometer that measures temperature based on the thermoelectric effect, where a voltage is produced across a junction of two dissimilar metals when subjected to a temperature difference. The most common type is the thermocouple, which generates a measurable electromotive force proportional to the temperature difference between its junctions. These thermometers are known for their durability and ability to measure extreme temperatures.
