Surface tension
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009448
The cohesive force among liquid molecules at an interface, which causes the liquid surface to behave like an elastic membrane. This property is responsible for phenomena such as capillary action, the formation of raindrops, and the ability of some insects to walk on water. For pure water at 20°C, its value is approximately 72.8 millinewtons per meter.
