Vapor tension
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009947
The pressure exerted by water vapor in a given volume of air, reflecting the concentration of water molecules. It is a direct measure of the absolute humidity and the driving force for evaporation. This atmospheric property is typically expressed in units of hectopascals (hPa) or millibars (mb).
