Capillary pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004147
The pressure difference across the interface between two immiscible fluids within a porous medium, such as water and air in soil. It arises from surface tension and the curvature of the fluid interface in small pores. This pressure is a key factor in determining the distribution and movement of water in unsaturated soils.
