Thermistor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-002785
A type of resistor whose electrical resistance is highly dependent on temperature, making it suitable for precise temperature measurements. As temperature changes, the resistance of the thermistor changes predictably, allowing for accurate readings. They are commonly used in weather balloons and automated weather stations due to their sensitivity and small size.
A resistor whose resistance changes with temperature. Because of the known dependence of resistance on temperature, the resistor can be used as a temperature sensor.
