Hygristor
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-006366
A type of resistor whose electrical resistance changes in response to variations in ambient humidity. It is constructed from a hygroscopic material, such as lithium chloride or a conductive polymer, that absorbs or releases water vapor, altering its conductivity. Hygristors are used as the sensing element in certain electronic hygrometers for measuring relative humidity.
