Chemical hygrometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004268
An instrument that measures atmospheric humidity by observing changes in the physical or electrical properties of a chemical substance as it absorbs or desorbs water vapor. Common types include those that measure the electrical resistance of a hygroscopic salt, such as lithium chloride. These devices provide a direct measurement of moisture content in the air.
