Torsion hygrometer

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009707

An instrument used to measure atmospheric humidity, typically employing a hygroscopic fiber or material that twists in response to changes in moisture content. The degree of twisting is then translated into a humidity reading. This type of hygrometer is less common than electronic sensors but offers a direct mechanical response to humidity variations.
