UV and IR hygrometers

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009932

Instruments that measure atmospheric humidity by analyzing the absorption of ultraviolet (UV) or infrared (IR) radiation by water vapor. These hygrometers operate on the principle that water vapor absorbs specific wavelengths of radiation. They offer fast response times and are often used in research applications and for measuring turbulent fluxes of moisture.
