Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009931
Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light but longer than X-rays, typically ranging from 10 nanometers to 400 nanometers. The sun is the primary natural source of this radiation, which is largely absorbed by the Earth's ozone layer. Exposure to excessive amounts can cause skin damage and other health issues.
