Ultraviolet

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009870

Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light but longer than X-rays, typically ranging from 10 nanometers to 400 nanometers. It is divided into UVA, UVB, and UVC bands, with UVC being the most energetic. The Earth's ozone layer absorbs most of the harmful ultraviolet radiation from the sun.
