Ultraviolet
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012403
Electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths shorter than visible light but longer than X-rays, typically ranging from 10 nm to 400 nm. It is divided into several sub-regions, including UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C, based on wavelength. Ultraviolet radiation is responsible for sunburn and can cause damage to biological tissues, but it also has applications in sterilization, curing, and analytical chemistry.
