Actinism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000164
The property of electromagnetic radiation to produce chemical changes, particularly in the context of photochemistry. This phenomenon is dependent on the absorption of photons by a molecule, leading to an excited state that can undergo chemical transformation. Ultraviolet and visible light are common examples of actinic radiation.
