Atomic fluorescence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000893
The emission of electromagnetic radiation by excited atoms that have absorbed radiation of a specific wavelength. This process involves the absorption of photons, followed by the re-emission of photons, often at the same or a different wavelength. It is a phenomenon exploited in atomic fluorescence spectroscopy for elemental analysis.
