Resonance fluorescence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010247
The re-emission of radiation by an atom or molecule at the same wavelength as the absorbed radiation, following excitation to a higher electronic state. This process occurs when the excited state relaxes directly back to the ground state without any vibrational energy loss. It is a rapid process, typically occurring on the picosecond to nanosecond timescale.
