Resonance line
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010254
A spectral line corresponding to a transition between the ground electronic state and the lowest excited electronic state of an atom or molecule. This transition involves the absorption or emission of a photon. The resonance line is typically the strongest spectral line observed in atomic spectroscopy.
