Line-shape analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006643
The study of the detailed shape of spectroscopic absorption or emission lines to extract information about molecular dynamics and interactions. This analysis involves fitting experimental spectral data to theoretical models that account for broadening mechanisms such as Doppler broadening, pressure broadening, and natural linewidth. It is commonly applied in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy.
