Solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011003
A spectroscopic technique that applies nuclear magnetic resonance principles to study the structure and dynamics of solid materials. Unlike solution NMR, solid-state NMR deals with anisotropic interactions that are averaged out in liquids, requiring specialized techniques like magic angle spinning to obtain high-resolution spectra. It provides detailed information about local atomic environments, molecular motion, and intermolecular interactions in crystalline and amorphous solids.
