Nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008106
A spectroscopic technique that exploits the magnetic properties of atomic nuclei to determine the physical and chemical properties of atoms or molecules. It involves placing a sample in a strong magnetic field and irradiating it with radiofrequency pulses, causing nuclei to absorb and re-emit energy. The resulting spectrum provides detailed structural information, such as connectivity and stereochemistry.
