Spin

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011196

An intrinsic angular momentum of elementary particles, such as electrons and atomic nuclei, which gives rise to a magnetic moment. This quantum mechanical property is quantized and can have discrete values. In nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, the spin of atomic nuclei is exploited for analysis.
