Spin-spin coupling
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011223
The magnetic interaction between the nuclear spins of different atoms within a molecule, transmitted through the bonding electrons. This interaction leads to the splitting of signals in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectra, providing information about molecular structure and connectivity. The coupling constant, J, is measured in hertz (Hz).
