Spin density

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011201

The net electron spin angular momentum per unit volume at a particular point in a molecule or material. It represents the difference between the density of electrons with alpha spin and those with beta spin. This quantity is measurable by techniques such as electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy, which detects unpaired electrons.
