Spin polarization
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013588
The phenomenon where the electron spins in a molecule or radical are not randomly oriented but exhibit a preferred alignment, often induced by the presence of unpaired electrons. This effect influences the magnetic properties and reactivity of chemical species. It is observed in electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectroscopy.
