Electron paramagnetic resonance

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003732

A spectroscopic technique that detects species with unpaired electrons, such as free radicals, transition metal ions, and defects in solids. It involves the absorption of microwave radiation by these unpaired electrons in the presence of a strong magnetic field. The technique provides information about the electronic structure and environment of the paramagnetic species.
