Nuclear quadrupole resonance spectroscopy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008114
A spectroscopic technique that detects transitions between nuclear quadrupole energy levels in solid samples. It relies on the interaction of a nucleus's electric quadrupole moment with the electric field gradient produced by surrounding electrons and nuclei. This method provides information about local electronic structure and molecular symmetry in crystalline solids.
