Perturbed angular correlation spectrometry
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008692
A nuclear spectroscopic technique that measures the interaction between the nuclear magnetic dipole or electric quadrupole moment of an excited nucleus and its local electromagnetic environment. This method involves observing the angular correlation of sequentially emitted gamma rays from a radioactive probe nucleus. It provides information about the hyperfine interactions in solids, such as electric field gradients and magnetic fields at the atomic scale.
