Larmor angular frequency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006446

The angular frequency at which the magnetic moment of a particle, such as an electron or atomic nucleus, precesses around an external static magnetic field. This frequency is directly proportional to the strength of the applied magnetic field and the gyromagnetic ratio of the particle. It is a fundamental parameter in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
