Precession
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009345
The rotational motion of the magnetic moment of a nucleus or electron around an external magnetic field. This motion occurs at a specific frequency, known as the Larmor frequency, which is proportional to the strength of the applied magnetic field. It is a core principle underlying nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy.
