Observation frequency

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008171

The specific frequency at which a spectroscopic measurement is performed, particularly in techniques like nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR). This frequency is determined by the strength of the external magnetic field and the gyromagnetic ratio of the nucleus or electron being observed. For instance, a proton NMR spectrometer is often described by its proton observation frequency, such as 500 MHz.
