Ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006075
A type of mass spectrometer that measures the mass-to-charge ratio of ions by trapping them in a magnetic field and detecting their cyclotron frequency. Ions are excited by a radiofrequency electric field, and their resonant frequency is inversely proportional to their mass-to-charge ratio. This technique offers very high mass resolution and accuracy.
