Sector mass spectrometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010645
A type of mass spectrometer that separates ions based on their mass-to-charge ratio using a combination of magnetic and/or electric fields. Ions are deflected by these fields, with their trajectories depending on their momentum and kinetic energy. Double-focusing sector instruments achieve high mass resolution and accuracy.
