Beam mass spectrometer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001166
A type of mass spectrometer where ions are generated, accelerated, and then separated based on their mass-to-charge ratio while traveling as a collimated beam through a vacuum system. This design allows for precise control over ion trajectories and high mass resolution. Examples include magnetic sector and quadrupole mass spectrometers.
