Transmission quadrupole mass spectrometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012254

A type of mass spectrometer that uses four parallel rods to create an oscillating electric field, which acts as a mass filter. Ions are introduced along the central axis and only ions with a specific mass-to-charge ratio can pass through the quadrupole to the detector, while others are deflected. This design is widely used for its speed, compactness, and ability to perform rapid scanning of mass ranges.
