Double-focusing mass spectrometer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003411

A mass spectrometer that employs a combination of an electric field and a magnetic field to focus ions, thereby improving both mass resolution and sensitivity. The electric sector focuses ions based on kinetic energy, and the magnetic sector focuses them based on momentum. This instrument provides highly accurate mass-to-charge ratio measurements.
