Ion collector
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013210
A component within an analytical instrument, such as a mass spectrometer or ion mobility spectrometer, designed to capture and measure charged particles. It typically consists of an electrode or a series of electrodes that attract ions, generating an electrical signal proportional to the number of ions collected. The collected signal is then processed to provide quantitative or qualitative information about the sample.
