Larmor precession

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006447

The precessional motion of the magnetic moment of a particle, such as an electron or atomic nucleus, around an external static magnetic field. This phenomenon occurs when a magnetic moment is placed in a magnetic field, causing it to rotate about the field direction. The frequency of this precession is known as the Larmor frequency.
